Ridgegate Parkway Bridge and Roadway Expansion, Phase 1
This project is located in the City of Lone Tree, a southern suburb of Denver. The project expands a portion of the existing Ridgegate Parkway, which is one of the main east/west connector roads between I-25 and the town of Parker, Colorado. Phase 1 includes the construction of two bridges: Happy Canyon Bridge and Badger Gulch Bridge.
Happy Canyon Bridge is a 140-foot x 48-foot single span bridge with a cast-in-place deck. Badger Gulch Bridge is a 237-foot x 58-foot 3-span bridge with a cast-in-place deck. Both bridges required the erection of pre-cast girders and wall panels and included the construction of a Concrete Panel Facing Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Retaining Wall System. This project had a unique deck forming design with permanent steel deck pans spanning between each girder. Once the girders were set and survey completed for the deck concrete, welders attached galvanized metal angles to small tabs that were cast into the girders. The team then installed the metal deck pans, which will stay in place for the life of the structure. |
