South Entrance to Yellowstone National Park
Lewis River Bridge Replacement
This project relaces the Lewis River Bridge in Yellowstone National Park near the south entrance.
The new structure is a 2-span, 357-foot-long steel girder bridge with ornamental sidewalk and rail. The bridge is founded on 30-inch diameter driven steel piling with curtain wall abutments, and 42-inch diameter driven steel pile columns at the center pier. Bridge replacement work required Hamilton to build a 4-span work bridge to the center pier, along with abutment shoring for traffic staging during construction. The new bridge is on a new alignment alongside the existing bridge. |
