Safety
Safety is our top priority at Hamilton. Our people, partners, and projects are the reason for our success; therefore, it is critical and a part of our company culture and corporate policy to maintain safe work environments on all our sites and locations.
Our safety department provides safety training and ongoing safety awareness through our See It–Say It–Fix It program. The safety team maintains a corporate Health and Safety Plan, an Accident Prevention Plan, and implements site specific plans for each project site. We take a mutually beneficial approach to encourage employee safety and support local communities. Getting everyone home safely to their families each night is our top priority. |

Environmental Stewardship
Environmental stewardship involves protecting the natural environment and finding ways to restore and enhance natural elements to benefit native species and enrich the human experience.
Environmental stewardship is a responsibility shared by everyone involved in our projects. Our safety orientations include site-specific environmental training to ensure awareness of environmental risks and Best Management Practices needed for each site. Our goal is to leave the environment better than we found it. |
Leading the WayThroughout our history, we have been dedicated to implementing innovative construction methods and procedures emphasizing environmental protection while delivering a successful project. Hamilton has been nationally recognized for integrating many notable environmental innovations and setting new industry standards for protecting the environment. Hamilton designed, produced, and implemented the first noise attenuation device (bubble-curtain) to protect aquatic species during pile driving operations. We have replaced petroleum-based products with biodiesel and vegetable-based oil, constructed full demolition containment platforms, built temporary work bridges and cofferdams to isolate the work and protect the environment, and built gutter systems on our platforms and work bridges to filter stormwater run-off. |
Community
Hamilton has been committed to improving our industry and the communities in which we live and work throughout the company’s 80-plus-year history. Since founder Harry Hamilton’s membership in AGC (Associated General Contractors, Oregon-Columbia Chapter) in the 1940s, service on the Eugene School Board in 1953, and presidency of AGC in 1954, Hamilton Construction’s leadership team and employees have played a significant role in bettering our industry and community.
