Bend, Oregon
Reed Market Road Extension/Southern Crossing:
Bill Healy Memorial Bridge
This project included the construction of a highly technical 3-span, curved and skewed, steel plate girder bridge and new roadway, which resulted in a major new east-west route through the City of Bend between Century Drive and Highway 97. The project consisted of approximately 3,000 linear feet of new roadway and a new 481-foot steel girder bridge built over the Deschutes River.
Wide streets, separate bike paths, roundabouts, landscaping, and illumination were all designed and constructed to bring a local aesthetic to this award-winning project. An additional aesthetic element included cast “random-pattern” stonework faces on the concrete abutments and interior piers. |
